Koi and Moon
In Koi and Moon, koi drift through a still pond beneath the reflection of the moon. Their movement disturbs the surface just enough to create soft, golden ripples, allowing light and water to become part of the same composition.
The painting is less about a particular place and more about a particular feeling — the peacefulness of being somewhere quiet, watching the water move slowly beneath the night sky.
The koi bring movement into an otherwise tranquil scene, while the moon’s reflection creates a sense of distance and stillness. Together, they create a moment that feels almost suspended in time.
